Kevin Hibbitt, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
I believe that psychotherapy is a powerful tool that can help people deal with painful experiences and lead more satisfying lives. In the process of exploring thoughts and feelings we develop self-awareness, which gives us the freedom to create our lives rather than be controlled by habit or circumstance. I strive to provide a healing environment where people feel safe and understood so that they may find the strength to grow in their capacity to understand themselves and to navigate their own unique challenges.
In my work with adults, couples and adolescents I specialize in treating the following: depression, anxiety, anger-management, grief and loss, relationship concerns, sexual issues, trauma/PTSD, identity and self-esteem, creativity and personal growth.
My work with people of all ages is informed by over 20 years of experience working with severely emotionally disturbed children in settings ranging from group homes to in-patient psychiatric facilities. In addition to my work as a therapist I have studied literature and the arts, as well as yoga and meditation.
